Requirements for operating FRITZ!Smart Energy 250 on the electricity meter
FRITZ!Smart Energy 250 is a sensor that reads the consumption data of your digital electricity meter and transmits the data to your FRITZ!Box, FRITZ!App Smart Home, or MyFRITZ! Net for analysis.
FRITZ!Smart Energy 250 is compatible with most of the digital electricity meters installed in Germany. However, some digital electricity meters in Germany have INFO (infrared) interfaces that behave differently, with the result that FRITZ!Smart Energy 250 cannot read any data. The table below lists the electricity meters which are incompatible with FRITZ!Smart Energy 250.

Checklist for starting operation
In order to launch operation of FRITZ!Smart Energy 250 on a digital electricity meter, the following requirements must be met:
- The electricity meter must be accessible and located within radio range of a FRITZ!Box with FRITZ!OS 8 or later. If needed, a FRITZ!DECT Repeater 100 or FRITZ!Smart Gateway can be deployed between the electricity meter and the FRITZ!Box.
- The electricity meter must not be included in the list of incompatible meters presented below.
- The electricity meter must have been provided by the meter operator.
- The INFO (infrared) interface on the electricity meter must be activated.
